2024

Visitors explores cultural memory, inheritance and identity through portraiture, traditional dress and analogue photographic processes.

The project reflects on the ways heritage can appear both familiar and distant, carried through objects, gestures, fabrics, rituals and the body. The figure becomes a visitor between worlds, moving between past and present, personal memory and collective history, belonging and displacement.

Through the use of Bulgarian traditional costume and the slower language of analogue photography, Visitors considers how inherited histories continue to shape identity across generations. The work asks what remains visible, what is preserved, and what returns to us through image, memory and cultural symbolism.
